A collection setting can be set to all products.
Changelog
The latest improvements to the YouCan ecosystem.
visible_if accepts a Liquid string. A theme with a Liquid condition can be imported, and the setting is always shown in the theme editor.
Themes can show placeholder illustrations with the placeholder_svg_tag filter.
with, for and as now work on render, include renders snippets, and the older paginate form now sets the paginate object.
Every theme file is checked when it is saved. If a save is rejected, you get the list of errors with their file and line. Themes must contain a layout and nine templates. The doc tag is supported.
Themes can render the customer account pages: login, register, password reset, account, orders and addresses. A customer object describes the logged in customer, and the storefront API has customer endpoints for login, logout and password recovery.
When a Liquid error occurs, only the failed part of the page is replaced with the error, its file and its line. In the code editor, syntax errors are marked on their line.
for loops take an else block, the sum filter adds numbers, and json prints numbers, booleans and nil as JSON values.
You can get one or more sections of a storefront page without the rest of the page, with section_id and sections.
The form tag covers the cart, coupons, reviews and express checkout, and every form works without JavaScript. The search page has a search object.
Themes can list products and collections without a setting for each one: collections, collection.products, all_products, and a paginate tag for any of these lists.
first and last work inside a path, {% dump %} and json print the values of objects, and a missing metafield is nil.
Section schemas, blocks, presets and settings groups take a name, the category setting is now collection, and the layout folder is layout/. JSON theme files accept comments and trailing commas.
Themes can use the text_alignment, inline_richtext and link_list setting types, and link lists have a handle.
settings_schema.json can declare the theme's name, author, version and support links in a theme_info entry. The liquid, echo and dump tags are fixed, and theme files are checked on save.
Only apps can create, update or delete metafields, and only in the namespace equal to their app handle.
New endpoints and a REST hook event expose a store's abandoned carts.
POST /products/update/{id} now updates only the fields you send. name, price and has_variants are no longer required.
The YouCan MCP server connects AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code to a store, at https://mcp.youcan.shop.
New endpoints list and upload images in the store image library. POST /media/{source}/upload-image is deprecated.
We are happy to introduce our global changelog, a single place for all the updates and improvements we made to the YouCan ecosystem.
