You can now write blocks as Liquid files in the `blocks` directory, use them in many sections, and nest them.

# Theme blocks

* A theme block is a Liquid file in the `blocks` directory with a `{% schema %}` tag. See [Theme blocks](/themes/theme-blocks).
* In the `blocks` array of a section or theme block schema, use `@theme`, the type of a theme block, or `@app` for app blocks.
* Render theme blocks with [`content_for 'blocks'`](/themes/tags/content_for), and static blocks with `content_for 'block'`.
* Theme blocks can be nested up to 8 levels deep.
* Section and theme block presets have a `category`. Presets are listed under their category in the theme editor. See [`presets`](/themes/sections/section-schema#presets).
* App embeds are stored in `blocks` in [`settings_data.json`](/themes/config/settings_data#blocks).
